Self-Evaluation and Action Plans for MATs: Introducing DfE Trust Quality Description Templates
In line with the Department for Education's ongoing commitment to provide greater clarity for the sector, the draft Trust Quality Descriptions were unveiled earlier this spring.
Responding swiftly to the need for a structured application of these descriptions, we introduced a draft template in MATvista (our MAT-focused version of iAbacus). The response was overwhelmingly positive, with numerous trust leaders voicing their enthusiasm for employing them for strategic planning and self-evaluation.
Encouraged by this positive feedback, we've now finalised two templates based on the Trust Quality Descriptions.
Choose From Two Robust Templates
You can select between two templates, each serving the fundamental purpose: to guide your trust's self-evaluation and improvement planning.
In the first template, an abacus bead represents each of the five Trust Quality Descriptions pillars, with rag-rateable statements nestled within them. This template offers an analysis of the five pillars and their associated trust strengths and areas for improvement.

The second, more detailed template assigns a bead to each statement within the five pillars. In addition to providing a comprehensive visual overview, this detailed approach allows users to add evidence, analysis, and action planning to each statement.

Your choice between the two templates ultimately hinges on your trust's specific requirements and the depth of detail you want in your evaluation and planning process.
